Packaging Design Intern – Creative Internship Opportunity

Position Overview:
Kay’s Curries is on the lookout for a talented and motivated Packaging Design Intern to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven food brand that values sustainability, bold flavor, and visual storytelling.
As our Packaging Design Intern, you’ll assist with creating packaging concepts, preparing print-ready files, and developing assets that align with our brand identity. You’ll work closely with the founder and creative leads to bring our products to life on shelf and online.
This is a remote, flexible, part-time internship—ideal for design students or recent grads looking to build a portfolio and gain real-world experience in food and CPG branding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Modify existing packaging designs based on feedback and requirements.
- Adapt the existing design for additional products and different package sizes.
- Develop creative, seasonal packaging concepts for holidays and special occasions.
- Brainstorm and design quirky, funny merchandise ideas that resonate with our brand identity.
- Ensure brand consistency across all packaging and merchandise while incorporating new design elements as needed.
- Collaborate with the founder/owner to understand packaging needs and functional requirements.
- Prepare final artwork for production and coordinate with printing vendors if needed.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Strong understanding of branding, typography, and layout design.
- Ability to work with and enhance existing design elements while ensuring consistency.
- Creative thinker with an eye for detail, and the ability to come up with fun and engaging ideas.
- Ability to take direction and work collaboratively with the team.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with packaging design, merchandise design, or related projects.
- Knowledge of preparing files for print production.
- Ability to conceptualize and design for seasonal/holiday themes.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices in packaging design.
- Interest in food, health, and wellness is a plus.
